Mauritus-based Startup Eco-Warriors Emerges as the Winner at Seedstars Port Louis

TechInAfrica – Mauritian edtech startup, Eco-Warriors, has emerged as the winner of Seedstars Port Louis pitching event which was held on October 17th, 2019 in Port Louis, Mauritius. The startup won over the other seven startups and will take part in the Seedstars Africa Summit with a chance to save a sport at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland and bring home an investment prize of $500,000.

Eco-Warriors is a subsidiary company of Panda & Wolf established this year. It provides ecological education mobile games for children as well as comic books with gamification to teach on waste sorting and recycling. The startup recently received recognition from the UN Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for its devotion to children’s education.

With its selection as the winner for the Seedstars Port Louis, Eco-Warriors will represent Mauritius at the Seedstars Africa Summit which will be held in December in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The other seven startups that took part in Seedstars Port Louis included Property233, Tutoo+, Roomscout, Nutri You Farm & Shop, Fundkiss Technologies, Flit Ride, and AVR Plato Technology.

Meanwhile, a panel of judges that selected Eco-Winners as the winner included Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub Head of regulations and compliance, Muhamud Junaid Udhin; Africa Leadership University’s Divine Kangami, and Seedstars Regional Manager, Claudia Makadristo.
