Google Cloud and Pepkor IT, a division of Pepkor Group, have agreed to work together to use Google Cloud’s data analytics tools to improve Pepkor IT’s internal logistics processes.

TechCabal saw a statement that said Pepkor IT will use Google Cloud’s BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, and Data Studio to help it make business decisions and run its business.

In addition, Google Cloud asserts that its solutions have enabled Pepkor IT to address stock replenishment at stores more effectively, resulting in a reduction of up to 80 hours of work per month and a 50% increase in the productivity of staff members.

Also, the strategic decision-making reports that Pepkor IT used to take up to three hours to make can now be made in just two minutes. Reports on stock calculations that used to take up to 300 hours can now be made in just five minutes.

Pepkor can operate its data workloads on the cutting-edge data analytics solutions provided by Google Cloud. This has resulted in stores being stocked more quickly, deliveries being made on time, and customers purchasing a product at a far lower price.

According to Niral Patel, director of Google Cloud Africa, “Our partnership with Pepkor is a fantastic illustration of the power of data to make businesses more efficient, ultimately leading to an improvement in the quality of the customer experience.”

Pepkor IT also used Google Workspace to automate the manual processes for work requests from its 5,400 retail stores. This cut the time to get work done from 15 days to just three days.

Pepkor IT’s Chief Information Officer, Gabrie Gouws, said about the partnership: “Pepkor IT is leveraging Google Cloud to enrich lives via innovation.”

Our Big Data landscape is made up of a considerably more extensive and in-depth collection of data than it ever has been before. We can process enormous amounts of data at the speed of light.

Our business partners can perform any analytics thanks to the environment, enabling them to make better and quicker decisions.
