The Zimbabwe innovative startups received support last week through the launching of the ICT Innovative drive. The initiative will facilitate startups services to be aired by mobile operators platforms such as Econet, Telecel, and NetOne.

The financial contribution by the three mobile operators will be one percent of their total revenue. They will also make provide technical support by making services available to customers throughout.  The total number of about 188 startups applied for the fund drive.  Despite the huge applicants, only six startups were eventually chosen for the drive.  The lucky startups comprised of Redpen, Purple Signs, Afrimom, NatiV Project, agri-tech and Oyos.  These six startups perform diverse roles such as School management software, deaf communication platform ande-health. Other functions are Shift Organic Technologies and online music stores respectively.
